Drinks of the Day:

Michel Couvreur’s The Transition

Thoughts (Spoiler Alert):

Don’t have any strong feelings about this chapter.  It was a natural extension of the last, and to be honest, I think it could’ve easily been made into a single chapter.  The little bits of humor were a nice touch.  Maki-san stayed true to his character, and gave a gift without actually giving anything.  The guys at the Whisky bar were also funny.  The owner and bartender both appeared professional at first, but then falls back to being comic reliefs.  I really liked that transition.

The only thing I don’t really get is why Sasakura is so obsessed with the name Eden Hall.  I feel like throughout his bartending career, there must’ve been other bars or people that gave him an even stronger impression than Eden Hall.  I guess this makes a good story, but it just seems weird to me how he first wanted to bring the original Eden Hall into Hotel Cardinal, and now he wants to bring it to his new bar.

My intepretation about Sasakura’s ‘obsession’ with Eden Hall: It is the first bar he manages, in other bars like Bar Minami and the French bar, he was working under other people… And it may also have something to do with the Eden Hall superstition…
