Bartender Glass 119 – A Drop of Water (Part 2)

This is the last chapter of Volume 15!

Drinks of the Day:

Gin Sling

  • 45 ml Gin
  • 1 Tsp sugar
  • Lemon Juice
  • Ice
  • Water

Thoughts (Spoiler Alert):

This story shows Sasakura and Kuzuhara’s interpretation of “the power of water”.  I think Kuzuhara’s drink was by far more thoughtful.  He literally used a single drop of water to alter the taste and fragrance of a drink.  The drop of water he used was also very special.  Sasakura’s, on the other hand, did not seem special at all.  Water didn’t play a significant role in his drink.  However, I don’t think this is a bad thing.  Kuzuhara has spent most of his life searching for a way to express the power of water, whereas, Sasakura had mere seconds to come up with a solution.  It actually wouldn’t have made any sense if Sasakura made a drink that was on par with what Kuzuhara made.

I’m not familiar with “a drop of water”, but to me, the moral here is not to waste.  Don’t waste water because it’s a precious resource that cannot be made by man.  Don’t waste time because every moment is important, every moment is as important as an eternity.  The other moral is to always give it your all.  It’s not enough to perfect skill and become very good at doing something.  You have to always put your heart and soul into it.  I think this is something that everyone can relate to, and this is a message that can be applied to any type of activity.

Thank you once again for all the work on another volume. I’ll read it in one go like I usually do, with a nice cold drink ;D.

Thank you for all your work!

Um, what does the monk’s last line of dialogue mean? “I need to swipe”?
