Thoughts (Spoiler Alert):

Another two-part story, with a cliffhanger that makes you want to read the next chapter right away!  I like these two-part stories, since it gives the author more time to develop the characters.  It’s also great to see Kawakami again.  She’s screwing things up again though, but you can’t blame her.  It’s obvious that there’s something wrong with the Whisky she chose,   but I don’t have a clue as to what the problem was.  I read the 2nd part a while back so I don’t remember exactly what the problem was.  All I remember is that it was something pretty obscure, and only someone crazy like Sasakura can make the connection.  Feel free to try and guess the connection, and post your answer in the comments below.  I’m interested to see what people can come up with 🙂

I’m not too fond of these chapters that only feature Whisky. It’s great to learn more Whisky brands, but compared to cocktails, I think it’s much more difficult to express, in words, the differences between different types of Whisky.  I feel like a big part of this manga is with it’s description of the drinks, and this chapter focused too much on the story.  But I guess that was the author’s original intent.  This manga’s first cocktail was Whisky with water, so it’s not too surprising that there are a few chapters dedicated to Whisky.  To be honest, I’m just glad there aren’t really any chapters about wine… since I’m sick of reading about them in Kami no Shizuku.

Not sure if you have been asked this before but, Have you seen the anime?

I’ve only seen the first episode. To be honest, I didn’t like it as much as the manga, so I didn’t go on to watching the rest of it.

    Great scanlation. Thanks!
Ah yes, an episode from the anime was heavily based upon these chapters.
Reading the manga it’s fun to notice the strange and curious changes that were present in the anime adaptation.

As usual, thank you very much for the chapter, there isnt really a better way to wake up than to a chapter of Bartender :).

Wow… These old men really like to put the bartenders on the spot. I would be thinking about the differences in flavour, particularly if he ordered it with water, as opposed to forming a story.

And to say, that she shouldn’t be a bartender. How cruel.
