Liar Game Chapter 94 – Setup

All right, yet another release that’s slower than the pace I have set myself since I started this project.  Was off in New York for a break and didn’t get back til Tuesday.  Just a head’s up, going off on more break on the week of Christmas.  Gotta love the holiday season!  Anyways, here’s the link.

My Thoughts:

Well, not much to be said this chapter.  It’s pretty much a continuation of last chapter, Akiyama showing how he gets the other players to believe him.  I think the sharper readers have already figured out the big picture prior to reading this chapter.  The only beef I have this chapter is how the host doesn’t know what Gambler’s Fallacy is.  He’s the host of LIAR GAME, a game of lying.  I expected every member of that Liar Game Office to have at the minimum a Bachelors in Psychology or Criminology.

Another funny thing to note is that the position between the host and Yokoya’s caretaker switched.  Now Yokoya’s caretaker is the know-it-all and explaining everything. Just thought that was interesting.

I have a scanned Japanese version of book 10. I do not know how high of a quality it needs to be in order for you to scanlate it. If you are interested in the copy — just contact me and we can find ways to get it over to you.

thank you thank you thank you for releasing this before taking your break!!

even i was able to understand that the normal would flock, i mean look at akagi. so i find this chapter too redundant in its recap of what just happened. but i just ENJOY that one panel of yokoya becoming unsettled. it’s about time he showed some humanness instead f being a poor scport from round 3 when he hurted da po mice.

    Thanks! :3

Anyway, okay, at least we got the trick fully explained, and now next chapter Yokoya will be able to come and mess stuff up. At least now Akiyama and Nao were able to contact with Muscles and whateverhisnameis, which built up their vaccine count and hopefully their trust. Anyway, since now those 4 are at Infected+3, perhaps Yokoya will come and say something like, “Once they get the next person, they will just stop doing this!” Hmm… just gotta wait and see…

I also thought it was kinda funny how Forli seems to know nothing and be really stupid, while Kurifuji(?) is explaining everything to him xD

Don’t worry, you’re still going at a much faster pace than previous scanners. I figured the holidays would be rough and that we’ll get to see quicker releases after the New Year.

Thoughts on the game…okay so now do we have 4 +3 Normals and 1 +0 Infected on the good side. We also have 3 +2 Normal on the bad side. Of the remaining 4 only 1 is infected along with Yokoya coming out and getting ready to reveal Akiyama’s fake detector.

I’m willing to bet he is going to ask what happens to the other 3 in this group of 9 since only the first 6 who get +4 Normal will advance…3 will end up falling behind and losing, no doubt definitely one if not both of the infecteds.

    I love this series =)

I can only guess where this is going from here. How the hell does Akiyama’s strategy “lock them out of victory”? Is Yokoya just spewing crap to make Akiyama look bad, or is there really a flaw in Akiyama’s plan that he didn’t see (or saw all along and hoped wouldn’t come up)?

Anyway, it’s fascinating all the angles the author thinks of – the paradoxical logic that turns “duh, of course” into “OMG REALLY?”. Like how everyone assumed that the infection would spread out of control by default, only for Akiyama to demonstrate that even if both infected players were in the party of ten, the infection wouldn’t spread the way it did unless an infected player was intentionally trying to infect everyone else.

When you sit back and think, it seems like Yokoya just got lucky by being infected, but if you think about it, his strategy could have been implemented regardless. He needed an infected teammate in order to secure a material advantage – the odds of that were 1/4, not insignificant – but a calculated lie, even if it were exposed, would cast doubt on Nao’s assertion that trusting one another was their best chance at victory.

Well it is the lesser of intelligent hosts. In Round 3, Leronira(sp?) was the more intelligent one, as the current host needed things to be explained by Leronira. Anyway, it would only make sense for Yokoya’s caretaker to be a know-it-all because it sounds it was her side of the staff that did all the research and set up for the games.

I wonder if Yokoya is gonna try to use fear to get people to join him. Trying to use the fact that no one knows how they are gonna be able to pay the massive debt they will owe for losing. Or maybe he is gonna try to make Akiyama look like a bod guy.

One advantage Akiyama does have is, a group with normal+3. And that is a big advantage. I’m curious to see what Yokoya has up his sleeve. Thanks for the update. Can’t wait to read next chapter, but don’t feel too rushed, Quality over quantity!

I think it would only be absolute victory in term of Akiyama’s thinking if he not only advances, but manage to get Yokoya infected in the process. Then he can blackmails all he wants.

perhaps. if he planned it ahead and to draw Yokoya so that Akagi can infect him or something.

I would think that muscle and the other normal guy would be convinced by Yokoya to go and contact with them, since they already have +3, muscle and the other normal guy would only need one more normal. And since people are more inclined to contact for their own survival and Yokoya is playing on their fears…they would probably end up contacting with Yokoya’s group just to be safe (Yokoya’s group is all normal anyways…) After that, Akiyama and Nao will be at a loss as to who’s normal and who’s infected, and no one will talk to them after Yokoya exposes their trick…something like that.

lol. i think this is the point where author brings out the nature.
That one will consider the what he’ve heard from the one that cannot be trusted.
In order for that to happen, yokoya’s words must be convincing. Perhaps this may be an another genuine side of Yokoya
that we did not see yet. lol
